Ep1: Entrepreneurial Team Shares! — Luxmin Part 1

Starting a business is difficult, but initiating it is not.
For those interested in entrepreneurship or light and shadow art, come and listen to how the Luxmin team under the S!Lab Entrepreneurship Laboratory at the Interdisciplinary Program in Human Science and Technology utilizes light and shadow technology!

Does a team need many people to start a business?
No need! As long as there's like-mindedness, you can start! Initially, it was founded by three individuals: Hsien-Chang, who is currently pursuing his master's degree in Electrical Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University, along with classmates from the same department and high school friends. They divided the work into art technology and project management.

The opportunity to start a business! — Taking Professor Ming-Ren You's upstream course!
I took Professor Ming-Ren You's entrepreneurship-related course called 'Entrepreneurship Lecture Hall' and, along with university classmates, developed some initial ideas. We wanted to combine my technical skills with the interest of my high school classmates in the field of light sculpture. Fortunately, we encountered the establishment of Professor Hsieh Ju-Mei's S!Lab laboratory.

The origin of Luxmin? — Creativity in Light and Shadow
We hope to use light as a medium to present various effects and interactive experiences, providing users with a better experience. Since the root of light in English is 'lumin,' we combined it with 'UX' (User Experience), hence the name 'Luxmin'.

Most memorable work! — Venturing beyond one's own field to explore untried technologies
In the process of brainstorming, I often browse through other people's works and various technological presentations. By chance, I came across conductive ink, and I thought the presentation effect was excellent. So, I decided to develop my work using this material.

The recent work: The Birth of the Little Dinosaur~ Aiming to integrate light and shadow with marketing for promotion.
The direction change in line with the team's development led us to explore interactive marketing methods and innovative advertising presentations. However, we found that due to the difficulty in quantifying the effects, no storefront was willing to collaborate.

So, we shifted our focus to creating a purely gaming experience, utilizing our team's existing technology in posture recognition to offer a new presentation for retro games. Additionally, our team aims to project virtual images onto physical spaces, incorporating human interaction to integrate space and the experiencer, enhancing the sense of immersion.

Ep2: Entrepreneurial Team Shares! — Luxmin Part 2

It's often said that "the beginning is the hardest part." So, how did Luxmin get started?
Patrick mentioned how he and his partners were inspired during internships and events, finding their interests and continuing to delve deeper into them!

Why did they collaborate with the interdisciplinary lab in humanities and technology?
S!Lab provides ample entrepreneurial energy and resources! Professor Hsieh adapts approaches according to different situations and ideas; compared to on-campus entrepreneurship containers, S!Lab assists in earlier stages, such as providing us with spaces for brainstorming and consultation.

How to find your future goals?
The senior shared that when he first entered university, he didn't have a clear idea of what the future would hold. He hopes that his junior peers won't limit themselves and, in addition to excelling in their major courses, will also be open to exploring and trying other fields!

Advice for younger students interested in pursuing the same field:

"In university, there's a lot of information that the school might not necessarily provide you with, so it's essential to develop your ability to research and find information on your own! Additionally, the skills you learn are often straightforward; the key is how to use these basic skills to create combinations that fewer people can think of."
