TXRX 2025: one day, and the first paid edition

6 December at Live House D, Taipei Music Center. Forums by day, live A/V at night, and what we would change next time.

FEST003 – 01

The second TXRX Interactive Festival took place on 6 December at Live House D, Taipei Music Center, co-hosted by Luxmin and Perspectives. The 2024 edition was a three-day exhibition at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. This one was a single day: forums from 10:00 to 16:30, then live audiovisual performances from 18:30 to 22:00.

Three firsts

It was our first full day of forums, the first time we sold tickets, and the first time we co-hosted with another team. When we decided to go ahead, the date was one month away.

TXRX had been free to enter. In Taiwan, where industry events are usually free, selling admission was a risk. Our answer was to fill the day so that the ticket was worth buying, and to stream the forums live, so that people who could not come could buy a ticket to watch.

Forums

  • Creative Tech Forum. Patrick (Technical Director, Luxmin), Chen Jiong-Ting (Founder and CEO, Fugu Fish Creations), Ye Wei-Zheng (Interdisciplinary Designer, LuxuryLogico) and Luca Bonaccorsi (contemporary audiovisual artist).
  • Industry Application Forum. Hosted by Su Qiao-Chun (Director, 23 Design), with Huang Qi-Jia (Co-founder, LightFull Studio), Liao Chun-Huan (Operations Director, Moondream Reality) and Dudu Zhan (Creative Director, Hey mechanic!).
  • Artist Talks. Zhuang Xiang-Feng (Technical Director, Simple Noodle Art), Shiro and Tapas Humi (Founder, Perspectives).

Live A/V

Echoing Shadows, hapharmonious, TAPAS HUMI, Chappie (Tung yu) × shengkai and LUCA BONACCORSI.

What we would change

This edition taught us a few things.

  • Sell early-bird tickets first. People decide sooner when there is a reason to, and one month of promotion is too short.
  • A fuller programme. Bring the exhibition back beside the forums and the concert, and add hands-on workshops where people bring a laptop.
  • Longer rehearsals. Every speaker should have tested on stage once, with a monitor screen, a timer and a monitor speaker in front of them.

Was the ticket too expensive, or did we not make its value clear? We are still working on that one.

Thanks
